Beverley Shore Memorial Scholarship

The Saskatchewan Band Association as well as friends and family of the late Beverley Shore are honoured to present two $1,000.00 music education scholarships in Bev’s memory.

Beverley Ann Shore was born on April 1, 1960 in Regina, Saskatchewan. She was the youngest daughter of Doreen and Allan Shore. She received her elementary, high school and university education in Regina, graduating in 1985 with a Bachelor of Music Education Degree. She taught in Watrous, Deloraine, Manitoba and Yorkton. Beverley’s devotion to her students was second to none.

Beverley was very active in the Saskatchewan Band Community. She was a Board Member and played a prominent role in organizing the Saskatchewan Music Conference for several years. She worked at several Saskatchewan Band Camps for over 20 years and always enjoyed working with the many students, staff, and teachers.

Beverley was also a valuable contributor to the local music festival and at the time of her death was President of the Yorkton Music Festival. Beverley was no stranger to the thriving musical community of Yorkton. Beverley brought her enthusiasm and generosity to all her community musical endeavours. She was always grateful to her many friends, who helped and encouraged her. She was very active in St. Andrew’s United Church, leading committees and singing in the choir.

Beverley always carried herself with grace, poise, and a strong sense of inner strength. Her sincerity in appreciating life was uplifting and never failed to inspire those around her. The overwhelming outpouring of love and appreciation that occurred after Beverley’s tragic death is a testament to the degree to which her influence was felt and appreciated. This music education scholarship fund has been established to further honour her memory.
