This year’s event will feature two outstanding music educators: beginning band specialist Marguerite Wilder (Jasper, Georgia) well known for her contributions to Teaching Music Through Performance in Beginning Band; and jazz educator Michael Cain (New York), BU’s new jazz piano faculty member. Returning to the event are clinicians Greg Gatien and Wendy McCallum. For additional information or registration, go to http://www.brandonu.ca/Music/Events/Events.asp or contact Heather Beesley at 727-7438 (beesleyh@brandonu.ca). CBA ONLINE THEORY PROGRAM

The Canadian Band Association announces the addition of a Teacher's Kit to its free online theory program.  Forty schools piloted the Teacher’s Kit this past year and Level 1 and 2 are now available (level 3-6 will be added over the next couple of years).

A Teacher’s Kit adds many benefits to the online theory program:

- no marking for the teacher - assignments and tests are marked automatically

- marks can be printed as a class spreadsheet and incorporated into school grades

- more time to rehearse, less time required to teach and grade music theory

- students may redo assignments to improve their score

- technical support is provided

The annual administration fee for the Teacher's Kit is:

* First 50 students - $165.00

* Add $50.00 for every additional block of 50 students.

For more information on the Teacher’s Kit and a FREE seven day trial visit  http://www.canadianband.ca/
