The Saskatchewan Music Conference 2009 will be held November 5-7, in Regina at the Travelodge. It will bring together more than 300 music educators from around the province.
This is the first year in the history of Saskatchewan that all five music organizations will come together for one music conference. The Saskatchewan Band Association, Saskatchewan Choral Federation, Saskatchewan Music Educators Association, Saskatchewan Music Festivals Association, and the Saskatchewan Orchestral Association will be hosting the conference.
Dr. Will Schmid, renowned for his work re-establishing the importance of active music making in American schools, will be presenting this year’s keynote address. With a background in general music, choral music and band, and years of teaching in public schools and universities, Dr. Schmid understands issues facing educators and administrators. Come and hear his message of innovation, inspiration and hope.
