The Saskatchewan Band Association, in collaboration with local band directors and the École St. Mary High School, is pleased to be hosting one of our new Regional Enrichment Workshops for grade 9 - 11 Band students.
The Intermediate Regional Enrichment Workshop is designed to provide targeted, additional instrument specific practice and instruction for students looking for that extra support and encouragement in their development.
The Intermediate Enrichment Workshops are offered as a series of two sessions - one in the fall and one in the winter/spring - to provide participants with a continuum of feedback and development. The fall session will include a master class aspect while the winter/spring session will focus on sectional & small ensemble work.
Each Workshop will be 2 hours long and will be coordinated by Mr. Chad Huel. Mr. Huel has over 20 years as a Band Director, is conductor of the Queen City Brass Band and coordinates the SBA Prairieland Jazz Camp and the Junior & Intermediate Honour Band South program. The Workshop will be delivered with the support of university music education students under the direction of Mr. Huel.
Please Note: Due to the level of instruction provided at the Workshops, participants must have completed at least two or more full years of Band. Students with only 1 full year of Band are more than welcome to register for the Junior Enrichment Workshop scheduled for the morning.
