National Youth Band of Canada with Special Guests - SBA's 40th Anniversary Celebration Band
Enjoy wonderful music from 50 of Canada's top youth band musicians & experience the joy of SBA's 40th Anniversary Celebration Band - 2 great performances entertaining us during an evening of fun and friendship!
Annually since 1994, the National Youth Band of Canada has provided an opportunity for the country's outstanding 16-22 year old musicians to gather for an enriching and inspiring musical and cultural experience. It is an outstanding opportunity to perform under the leadership of renowned Canadian conductor, Dr. Leah McGray and perform with Yamaha Canada featured soloist (and SK native) Tom McCaslin.
The SBA 40th Anniversary Celebration band has been formed JUST for this event! The Band is a combination of past SK NYB Alumni, Community Band ambassador musicians, past and present SBA board members and more - all coming together to celebrate! The Celebration Band will be directed by 2 special SBA guest conductors.
In addition to the performances of both the NYB and the Celebration Band there will be some special awards presented and a chance to mingle and connect with fellow band enthusiasts. Plans are underway to even include a Photobooth to capture special memories from the evening.
Doors will open at 7:00pm to allow a chance to mingle and grab a refreshment before the performances. Performances will begin at 7:30pm.
