Inviting all brass players and percussionists to join us for Prairie Music Residency 2024. We are hugely excited to welcome world renowned Conductor and Euphonium player Dr. David Thornton as our guest Brass Band Conductor, and Guest Soloist Amy Ewen (Baritone) alongside Percussion course directors Michelle Colton and Alejandro Céspedes (Oregano Percussion).
More faculty to be announced soon.
PMR offers two distinct courses streams:
1. The Brass Band Residency is open to any experienced brass player who wishes to take part and improve their existing skills and knowledge.
2. The Prairie Percussion Residency runs simultaneously with the Brass Band Residency. Percussionists will take part in the Brass Band rehearsals in the morning and then take part in clinics, masterclasses and small ensembles in the afternoon under the tutelage of our guest percussion director and faculty.
PMR will take place at the University of Saskatchewan (Saskatoon) from August 7th – 11th, 2024 and will combine a mixture of rehearsals, sectionals, masterclasses, performances and social events.
